Eli Season In Danger

Eli's Plantar has had a "stress reaction". If this turns into a

Could playing on short rest have contributed to this? It figures that
not giving the body time to heal would lead to a greater chance of
injury, especially aggravating already existing injuries.
There should be an end to the NFL network Thursday night games! Have any
of the visiting teams even come close in any of these games? The home
teams have a huge advantage. And Dallas should not have a home
Thanksgiving game every year! Let them play on the road! Going to
Detroit is the only way a visiting team can possibly win on a Thursday.

More bad coaching. Sit him before the bye or vs Atlanta to get 3 weeks rest.
Maybe they win with Carr, if they lose (as they did before the bye they'd be
no worse off). Now if they lose to Dallas, they'd be done and Carr should
be starting the remaining 4 games. Coughlin gambled (again) and lost.

He was the sole reason we beat Atlanta. He passed for a career high in
yardage.

That's barely beat Atlanta. Just because he has a good game doesn't mean we
don't with Carr. So it doesn't mean we don't win with Carr. Was his career
high passing worth stressing the foot? He was bad on the first series in
Denver so I'm concluding he was hurt worse by the end of the Falcon's game.

I'm saying he well could have beaten Atlanta. You can't carry anything from
a game with Eli to a game with Carr. The entire game becomes different.
That means too it could be worse, I acknowledge that. But if he could have
beaten Atlanta then Eli has 3 weeks. I would have preferred to see Carr
play against SD - a loss at that point we could afford (and lost anyway).

Maybe. We'll never know, and seeing Carr start in the future doesn't tell us
much unless he plays well and the offense responds. Which might make the
defense respond too. One game might have effected the remaining 5 - is that
smart? That's all I'm trying to say. If Eli rested a game we lost anyway,
there's no harm.

In that game with Eli, yes. Who knows what would have been needed to win
had Carr started. Nothing can be taken from it and applied to an "if Carr
started" scenario.

He was actually one of the two reasons the Giants won. The other was
that they were lucky that the Falcons made the wrong call on the coin
flip before the overtime.

In the preseason, and his bit of reg. season playing time over the
past couple of seasons, here's what I noticed about Carr:
(1) he still has problems with a pass rush, gives up sacks
(2) he has great chemistry with Nicks, if he starts then I hope they
starts Nicks too.

Carr has looked good in preseason vs the scrubs, but I wouldn't read
to much into that. Danny Ware looked great last few preseasons, that
dint stop him from fumbling away the ball vs the Broncos.
