That stadium in California is only a dream. Do not hold your breath waiting
for the ground breaking.
No worries, as I don't care if L.A. ever gets a team, myself. The fans
there have demonstrated on numerous occasions that they don't want or
deserve one; it'd be a mistake for the NFL to go down that road right
now, though maybe in 10-15 years it might make sense to return.
The NFL would not care if they had a team in Peoria or Green Bay. It is the
sponsors who want to have some NFL hoopla in the huge market that is L.A.
I am not a sociologist or anything like that but I would guess that sports
fans in L.A. are the same as sports fans in Green Bay but there are a whole
lot more of them.
I am guessing that the Roski guy spent a small amount of money to get that
Commerce site approved and he is waiting for some NFL team to fall into his
lap. Not that I think there is anything at all wrong with that. He is a
businessman and he is good at it. There will be no bulldozers moving dirt
until the NFL gives him a franchise or one of the existing teams signs an
oath to move to Commerce.
