Given all the fake IDS/stolen identities/etc.how do you
prove that you are actually who you say you are?
The same goes for the Arizona law. There is no fool
proof way to prove that you are who you say you
are.
There's no IDs required to vote in the US??? Srsly?
In Canada, they get your name and address from your tax return (if you
say that's okay) and they get the rest of the names by going
door-to-door to get the name of everyone of voting age.
Everyone is assigned a voting location. You go there and you are
assigned to a single table and can only vote there. You're name is on
the list. You provide ID if requested, they cross you off the list. No
one can pretend to be you and no one can vote if they're not on the list
and cannot provide ID with proof of residence (phone bill etc).
Then there's no foolish electronic gadgets or pull tab thingys. You go
in behind a piece of cardboard, mark an X next to the person you're
voting for and poke it in a box. The votes are counted at the end of the
night with representatives from all the parties watching.
Simple.
Election fraud is something you don't see a lot of up here.
Something to be said for a parliamentary system.
Oh, and our elections last all of six weeks at most.

Why do Canadians put animals on their currency? Because they don't
have enough famous people.
Maybe they'll have a $5 Parkinson's with Mikey J. Fox on it!!

Wrong. Captain Kirk is from Iowa.
William Shatner is from Canada.

Apology accepted.
That is certainly one argument for a parliamentary system. We have 50
states with 50 sets of rules. Some have open primaries, most don't.
In Maryland you don't have to provide ID. They get your name off of
the voter's roles. Those roles are from people who registered to
vote. All you do is walk up to the election officials, give them your
name and address and as long as you are on the roles they give you a
ballot. Even if the address doesn't match, they'll still let you
vote. They'll just ask you for your current address.
Some states may require a photo ID, I don't know. I lived in Utah and
they didn't require ID there either.
I don't have a problem with requiring a photo ID to do one of the most
important things we do in a free society.
And yes, cloud dreamer, we still have animals in the U.S.A. I nearly
hit a deer last week and there's a stray cat in my yard. :)
Learn to aim better... All problems solved.
I think she meant that there was no currency left. After taxes.
Well, that point went well above both your heads.
Why don't you go back and call the OP a dumbass for insinuating that
Canada has no famous people. That was an asinine comment and deserved
one that proved just how asinine it was.
Kind of funny that the one calling me a dumbass was too stunned to see
the meaning and spent the time listing animals. How stupid is that?
Cloud reamer, please consider what you wrote:
"Why don't Americans put animals on their currency?
Cause there's none left."
A casual analysis of these statements will show that "Cause [sic] there's
[sic] none left." is unclear on whether it refers to the animals or the
currency. Considering that we are rapidly approaching April 15th (18th for
this year) which is the deadline for filing tax returns in the US, it is a
reasonable inference (that approaches humor, in my own humble way) to
conclude that the statement referred to currency - and the connection to the
confiscatory tax code that we are subject to in the US. Thus the response,
"I think she meant that there was no currency left. After taxes."
I realize that you are a citizen of Canada and may not be aware of the
US-centric nuances of my attempt at humor. However, I have friends and
colleagues from Canada who are delightfully above average individuals. I
suppose that your role is to counterbalance their above average status,
which you do so well. Keep up the great work!

ps. <plonk> (I'll save you the trouble.)
You sound like Phillip on Survivor.
Writing big words doesn't change the fact that the whole point went
above your head.

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit.
Again, insults and rhetoric to cover up the fact that you missed the point.
"You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means."

Besides "eh","hoser" and "aboot", Canadians are challenged
linguistically.
The only good Canadian is a dead Canadian.
mr dude
More distraction to indicate that you couldn't figure out the simple
point I was making. You're an indication of all that is wrong with the
US. Poorly educated but you think otherwise.
Enough time wasted with you. <plonk>

The subject of your question was "animals"
then you followed that by posting "Cause there's none left."
Tone of voice or sarcasm is not indicated in the printed word.
If you wonder why a learned fellow like me might consider you a dumb
ass,
didn't you post a few months back that Mormons are not Christians?
You dumb ass

That's how Obama got elected. Illegal Mexicans and felon negroes in
prisons.

In America, they look your name up on a roster of registered voters with
your address. You sign your name and they give you a tag with a number on
it. Then you go vote.

It's the same here except they never check any ID. The liberals would
shit themselves to death screaming "NAZI! NAZI! NAZI!" if anyone asked for
an ID.

Canadian schools teach reading. American metro schools teach hatred,
subservience, politically correct behavior and cowardice.

Why bother in Canada? You have nothing for politicians to steal.
