of discourse is not exactly high, on either the right or the left.
There are racists, homophobes and folks who believe 911 was staged.
Not pretty. But when these folks discuss football, I often learn
someting interesting.
As for trolling, blame the trolls for it, not this newsgroup as a
whole. I have no idea who the trolls are that infested your group,
but a troll is a troll no matter where they come from. FWIW, some of

RUMORS SPREAD THAT CARROLL-TO-CHARGERS IS A DONE DEAL
There is increasing talk in league circles regarding suspicions that
the San Diego Chargers already have a secret deal in place with USC
coach Pete Carroll.
Folks are pointing to some of the same facts we outlined on Monday
night, after word broke that Marty Schottenheimer had been fired.
Some think that the most convincing proof was/is USC assistant Steve
Sarkisian's abrupt about-face with the Raiders, followed days later
by
the decision of his former Trojan colleague, Lane Kiffin, to take the
job.
Why else, the theory goes, would Kiffin take a job that Sarkisian
didn't want unless they both knew that Carroll wasn't long for the
USC
gig, and that Sarkisian, not Kiffin, had been hand-picked to replace
him?
Others are pointing to the fact that the first guy to be interviewed
is Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera, who has no head-coaching
experience but who helps the Chargers satisfy the Rooney Rule
quickly,
in the event that the Pete Carroll cat gets out of the bag
prematurely
and none of the minority candidates agree to sit for the job. (See
Detroit Lions and Steve Mariucci.)
We're also told that there is worry among the incoming class of USC
recruits regarding the possibility that Carroll is leaving. But Pete
has opted not to even address the situation publicly.
If he were not going to be the San Diego coach, he could easily say
so. The fact that he has said nothing at all speaks volumes, in our
view. Especially since he now has a couple dozen nervous high school
seniors who signed papers seven days ago under the assumption that
the
head coach would be sticking around for at least the next month.
Stay tuned. We predict that the Chargers will go through the motions
with several candidates, and that Carroll will then swoop in out of
the blue as the guy.
If that happens, look for Pat Kirwan to soon follow him -- and for
G.M. A.J. Smith to definitely get the boot after the draft.

or something the kids are reading. I was listening to it; and it seemed
just like Obama. He acts like he cares about you ( he doesn't give a fuck
about anything but himself), tries to appear like he doesn't hate (but he
is a Muslim making believe he is a Christian), and when all is said and
done it's all about being self centered (drunks don't care about anyone but

With regard to him being Christian - that's bullshit. He was born to a
Muslim father and raised by a Muslim stepfather. He was raised in one of
the most radical Muslim countries on earth (Indonesia) and attended Mosque
there. Muslim law is clear about not being allowed to convert from Islam
to anything else. So you have someone who was a practicing Muslim saying he
converted to Christianity. That sounds fishy. Then add to it that his
father was Muslim; and that means he is too. And his stepfather raised him
Muslim. It's in his blood. And if he makes President; he will fuck
Israel in the heart. Guaranteed.
I don't really care if people find the name offensive. Predators find
Usenet names as tools to prey upon and abuse others; and most everyone else
are the prey. So, at the end of the day; is there really any decorum here
anyway? And besides; if people want to get offended by actual racists;

Yeah, Jeff, if you didn't realize this was happening, it's something
you ought to be paying attention to. Several of this newsgroup's
regulars were spoofed by a frothing Colts fan during the week before
the AFCC. A lot of the posts you are in a tizzy about were made by a
Colts fan, not by folks from this group. FMGD has never been
subjected to this particular tactic, in my recollection.
If you really want to know who actually posted what, you will have to
go back and look at the headers to check the ISP of origin.
