A late highlight of the game last night was the possible first sighting of a guy who Belichick is destined to snatch if Miami cuts him loose. Look for the speed in his 99 yard touchdown run.

I first read about Stringfellow after he was signed - sounded pretty interesting for an undrafted rookie. Here’s what was written about him in July. He’s one of those guys who may turn out to be a real steal…

======================================================

Originally from Perris, California, wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow began his career at the University of Washington. As a freshman, Stringfellow played in 12 of 13 games as he caught 20 receptions for 259 yards and two touchdowns. That would be his only season playing for the Huskies.

In February of 2014, Stringfellow would be suspended indefinitely after a violation of teams rules. He was later charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault after he was accused of punching a man. Washington reinstated Stringfellow, but he would later transfer to Ole Miss in June of 2014.

After sitting out the 2014 season because of NCAA transfer rules, Stringfellow would return to the field in 2015. In 12 games for the Rebels, Stringfellow finished fifth on the team in receptions with 36 and fourth in receiving yards with 503. He also recorded five touchdown catches, which were the third most on the Rebels that year.

Stringfellow’s final season at Ole Miss would prove to be his most productive yet as he finished second on the team in receiving yards (716) and third in receptions (46). He also finished the year with six touchdown catches. After the 2016 season, Stringfellow decided to forgo his senior season and enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

Stringfellow’s decision didn’t get the intended results he was looking for as he went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft after he was projected him as a sixth round selection. Because of his criminal history, Stringfellow wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine, which might have affected his draft stock.

At 6-2, 219 pounds, Stringfellow has excellent NFL size for a receiver. At Ole Miss’ Pro Day, Stringfellow ran a 4.54 40-yard dash, according to Scout.com. Miami signed Stringfellow as one of their 14 undrafted rookie free agents a few days after this year’s draft.

During minicamp this spring, Dolphins backup quarterback Matt Moore said he liked what he saw from Stringfellow early on.

“Stringfellow, (he’s a) big kid,” Moore said. “Again, I think he’s got a lot to learn; but those guys are out there grinding every day. They’ve been good.”

Stringfellow will compete for one of the last receiver spots during training camp. With his limited experience on special teams, it is more likely that Stringfellow obtains a special teams spot on the Dolphins roster.

Wish they were as good finding OL and LB's as WR's.
