If the Dolphins decide to spend their top pick on a QB in this draft, if
had better not be Murray. From this distance there are too many
questions about his physical size and the sincerity of his commitment.

I never saw Pat White play in college - I had no idea who he was when
the Dolphins reached for him. He never looked comfortable in the NFL
and it was clearly a badly considered choice. That said, he was bigger
than Murray by a fair piece.

Despite his "pledge to play football" he's got to know that he has an
emergency exit to baseball just waiting.

Or he could be the next Russell Wilson or Drew Brees. Doug Flutie
started 66 games and had some success during an era when QBs were a lot
less protected than they are now.

From what I've read, the ONLY knock against Murray is his size (and
possibly, his commitment to football). I say you can't draft enough
prospects until you get the right one. Franchise QBs are so rare that
you often have to swing and miss a few times to get it right.

Even if the Dolphins draft him, spend a year evaluating him, and decide
he isn't "the one," they should be able to get draft picks for his
talent in year two.

I do hope they aren't stupid enough to go after this guy. Spend the pick on the O line or D line. Use anybody for QB. This is not the year for our new QB.

Flute and Brees are the exception, not the norm. I’m not saying he has to be 6’5”, but listed at (a very generous) 5-10 195lbs, he’s smaller than Pat White. I realize the rules have been changed to protect these guys, but small is small. One thing I’ll admit about Goldenboy is he could take a punch.

I wouldn’t throw a brick at my tv if he was drafted, but it’s nothing more than a crap shoot. I can see him being good, mediocre or sucking. The nfl is a lot different than the college scrubs Murray played against.

There are a couple I would take a flyer on if they dropped into the
later rounds (they won't) but all this talk about Kyler Murray going to
Miami in the top of the draft is crazy.

I'm hoping it's all smoke and mirrors.

I just hope that the frenzy takes hold and the Redskins take him #3
overall after swapping 1st Round picks with the Jets.

Yeah baby.

Jimmy Johnson's take -

Don’t necessarily succumb to the temptation to draft 5-10 Oklahoma
quarterback Kyler Murray.

“Kyler Murray is the kind of player who can take you to the playoffs
or can be hurt his second game,” Johnson said. “He is exciting and a
great college player, but he is undersized and a big part of his game
is mobility and mobile quarterbacks in the NFL don’t last very long.
But he is great player and exciting. It would be a tough call for me
for the long haul. I would be hesitant.”
