Chuckle-worthy “rumors” are circulating that Jay Cutler might be headed into the broadcast booth. Another old QB with no good job offers is trying to slide into the color seat. But Cutler? The guy has the personality of an unfriendly street person. He’ll be sitting alone, way over in the corner and not talking to his booth partner.

It is equally amusing to see (5th) columnists whining about how Colin Kaepernick can’t find work. They say he’s blacklisted because of his political views.

Could be.

But… it’s not like he was lately praised as a sensational player and he is rated as one of the least accurate passers. His completion percentage ranks him about #32 since 2015.

So when he became a free man, his agent suggested that Colin engage in some character rehabilitation to improve his chances of getting a new team. He “quietly” donated $50,000 to Meals on Wheels America and then another $50K to Somalia famine charities. Evidently he’s been giving away $400K per month since losing his job with the 49ers. Along with giving free suits to ex-cons.

Can’t buy me love.

Then he pledged that he was done with his anthem kneel-down protests…

<crickets>

Is this lack of attention due to poor play or just bad feelings about his protests?

Yes.

All this is good stuff, but none of it is quite as enjoyable as reading that Phil Simms was happily dumped by his booth partner Nantz because of Phil’s childish behavior of farting at inappropriate moments.

A lesson history seems unable to teach . . . controversial people suffer
for their controversy. PARTICULARLY controversial people with no
identifiable talent.

A behavior most of us outgrew after junior high school.

Now we know what Phil was actually good at.
