Before I commit, you'll have to suffer through my reasoning. In my
mind, 4 things have to go right.
1) OL - possibly 3, less likely 4 new faces/positions on the OL. That
takes time to gel and Sept doesn't look easy. I'll be happy with 103.
2) RT - 2nd year. How will he play. Yes, new weapons and more
experience but that doesn't always translate into top play. I EXPECT
him to be much improved but know one knows for sure.
3) pass rush - should be much improved but a lot of variables,
including the FAs, Vernon, Jordan. Can they be successful?
4) CBs - I'm more optimistic about this group, assuming no rash of
injuries. A solid pass rush will make them MUCH better. Still, the
current starters are coming off injuries and the next best, IMO, are the
rookies.
All that said, I think 8-8 is doable. 9-10 wins if one of the rookies
lights up the league and the OL gels much sooner than expected.
