Chiefs to Place TE Brad Cottam on Injured Reserve

The Kansas City Chiefs announced today that the club will place TE Brad
Cottam on injured reserve. Cottam was injured in the fourth quarter of
Sunday�s game vs. Cleveland (12/20). Upon further testing following the
game it was revealed that Cottam sustained a fracture to one of his
cervical vertebrae. He has full use of his extremities. He is undergoing
further evaluation and team doctors will continue to monitor Cottam�s
injury.
Cottam (6-7, 269) tied a career high with four catches against the
Browns, compiling a career-high 62 receiving yards. The University of
Tennessee product joined the club as a third-round draft choice (76th
overall) in 2008. In 24 games (eight starts) with the Chiefs, he has
caught 16 passes for 183 yards. He prepped at Evangelical Christian High
School in Germantown, Tennessee.
