Wendler is known for beating one idea to death with hyperbole.

He does have a fair question about Croyle, but we're not going to see him
starting or coming into games except when far behind (or, in another
universe, far ahead). They are going to play this out with Cassel, and
besides, if Haley did happen to decide that he needed to start Croyle
because Cassel isn't the guy, he's not going to do it until he builds up the
OL in the offseason. We all know what happens when you put Croyle behind a
lame offensive line. He may not be able to last out a season even behind a
good OL, but at least an injury wouldn't be a foregone conclusion.

To be honest, McDaniels is killing the Broncos offense with similar slip
screens.

Your take on Croyle is spot on, be nice to have Thiggy back about now,
wouldn't it?

No, not IMO. Thiggy is a one trick pony, terrible downfield accuracy, cannot
take a snap under center to save his life, but ok as an emergency QB if you
are forced to run the spread because your OL can't stop a girl scout selling
stale cookies. I notice he's not exactly making an impact in Miami, where
everyone thought a guy who could run and play the spread would be awesome in
the Wildcat.

I hoped he would stay here so they could run trick plays with him, but they
need draft picks next season more than they need a player on the roster just
for trick plays and third string backup. Both Cassel and Croyle are better
QBs. Croyle may be the best of them all, pure rifle for an arm and deadeye
accurate down the field, but about as tough as an overcooked noodle.

I'm sure Blue will be along directly to explain again why I'm wrong about
Thigpen. ;-)

True enough, they seem to like Henne, don't know why really as he's got
picks to match his TDs.
