Hello!

I'm a huge Packers fan from England and have decided to treat myself to a
trip to see a Packers game.

The only game I can go to is the Detriot Game in December due to work
commitments and I need a little help.

Myself and my girlfriend are not leaving Green Bay till the 2nd of January
and so are seeing the new year in Green Bay.

Just wanted some advice from some Green Bay residents, I was maybe thinking
of seeing the New Year in at Curly's pub at Lambeau Field or maybe "The
Bar".

Does anyone have any feedback on seeing the new year at either of these
places or maybe have a better idea?

Cheers!

Last year I was in town visiting family and was stuck in Green Bay over
New Years Eve. The wife and I went to the downtown Oneidi casino for a
little Texas Hold 'Em action. Wasn't the most happening place in the
world, but not bad if you like casinos.

You might want to check out Appleton...which is 30 miles down the road.
The bars on College Avenue should be hopping on New Years Eve. Heck, I
think the Packers players are more likely to hang out in Appleton than in
Green Bay.

But I don't live in Green Bay, so hopefully someone like the Nerdmann can
chime in.

Thats pretty cool that you are hopping over the pond for a Packers game!!
Lambeau Field is quite the atmosphere...it will probably be a bit cold so
bring some long underwear!

Make sure you check out the Packers Hall of Fame at some point. Deserves
a few hours.

There's no such thing as the downtown casino. The casino is out by the
airport and the poker room is on West Mason street near highway 41.

VMANN: the bar is cool. never actually been to curley's.
restaurants: maria's: on broadway. authentic mexican. cafe espresso, on
washington. the loveliest waitresses around. angelina's. not sure what
street, right downtown. theyre only open some of the time. the wellington
is all right if youre kind of stuck up. there's some taverns on bay
settlement road that have great fish fries. you can try victoria's too, on
bay settlement. kind of a nice place to bring a first date.
kavarna is cool if you want to hook up with young, fashionable homosexual
boys. (sorry wailin, they dont have vending machines.) whats that place on
bellevue that has really good pizza?
i usually party at peoples houses and shit like that, when i do. im not
much of a taverngoer, per se. there's a lot of places on main street on the
east side where the young 'uns tend to congregate.
try the hinterland brewery, although it's pricey. whats that old railroad
station down on the river? never been there, but they tell me it's nice.
ill ask around for new years' party locales. is za's still around? heh.
take your girlfriend to SASS, on broadway. heheheh.

NERD: here's a little tip: dont pay for parking! you can park on the
backstreets between oneida and ridge road, north of the stadium. spence
street is the main one. i used to have a paper route all throughout there,
all the way down to 9th st. heheh.
anyway, you get there maybe like three hours early and park back there on
the street, then you walk through the catwalk that comes out onto lombardi.
from there, you cross right over to the stadium. HAVE FUN!
