You think they go the Kansas State route and rehire Spike Dykes for a
couple years until they can land a top ranked coach?

I'm not convinced that Gerald Myers didn't chase *him* away
in the first place.

two of bob stoops' former assistants fired in less than a month. for
both ku and tech, mangino and leach are the best coaches either school
had in football. gill may keep ku competitive, but i don't know if
tech will be able to maintain the same competitiveness they sustained
the last 10yrs.

it's good to know to keep CRAIG JAMES off your campus. he has the
history to bring down two proud football programs.

now on to my favorite tweet i read all day regarding Mike Leach:
Biggest issue now is not about Leach coaching bowl game, but it's
where he's buried the #TexasTech playbook http://twitpic.com/vw4gc

I just posted this on Bellomy's facebook page... but felt like it
deserved a repost:

Kanye West: "Excuse me Texas Tech, I'm gonna let you finish in a
minute... but R.C. Slocum was the greatest College Football coach
fired in Texas this decade."

Cheers

Nope. Sonny Dykes. OC at Arizona, was OC at Tech.

Who the hell else would even consider Tech now?

I know some coach will take it. I'm sure Art Briles is a candidate
and supposedly, Tommy Tuberville is interested. But I would stay far,
far away from this job. I see this as a no win situation. First, you
play ousux and Texas every year and you have the sleeping giant in
College Station. On top of that, you will follow someone who is sure
to become a Texas Tech legend, the winningest football coach in Tech
history, and a VERY popular figure in Lubbock.

I know Leach pissed everyone off up there, but they should have
figured out a way to handle it better.

Even more fun will be watching the legal drama play out. I don't
think Tech will out-lawyer Mike Leach, but I wonder if Mike Leach
pissed the university off so much that a lot of schools will be afraid
to hire him. Maybe Leach goes to a MWC or WAC school and goes
undefeated every year and gives the BCS fits.
