Well I have to admit it was a thorny issue for me to see Duck fans with
roses in their mouths, hands, hair, etc. BEFORE the game was even played.
Just a little too presumptuous for my taste in sportsmanship and a sign of
disrespect for their opponent who nearly rubbed their noses in the overt
arrogance.

Waving roses after sealing a trip to the Rose Bowl game is just fine.
Before the game I thought it was tacky. I adhere to the old sports adage -
Act like you've been here before.

spoken like a true Duck-hater, Bob. That's a very odd interpretation
of "hope". Pragmatically speaking, if Duck fans didn't bring roses to
the game how would they have them afterwards?

Did you see any Beaver fans waving roses before or during the game? How
about when they were up by two scores in the 2nd half?

For the record I rooted for the Ducks because a Duck win would get the
Trojans to a better bowl game. I watched the game with a Duck fan who also
thought the early flashing of roses was over the top.

Bah, see, I thought Coz went *boom* after last season's perfection for
the Huskies, which means he wouldn't really care about the Rose Bowl
now, right? ;)

('Sides, you're the mayor of ascp10town! we can't ban you!)

Obama's 8-4? I didn't peg you as a lefty, so I assume this comment
was made without a lot of thought.

The current administration is more like UCLA.. barely hitting .500 by
picking off the easy targets, and desperately hoping a Humanitarian
effort can help it stay relevant.

actually, I think he's involved with public office, "representative
Commissioner" or something of some local government. I saw his campaign
website a couple years ago, not sure what became of the election or what
happened. Maybe his campaign went into a "death spiral". (couldn't resist).
For the record, after reading his platform, he was not exactly the
type of candidate I would vote for, but I have no ill will towards him.

Au contrere. I responded to your sarcasm with more sarcasm. But I do think
the disappointing season for the Trojans has caused a lot of the LA lefties
to jump off the bandwagon and that is good.

I think the current administration is a lot like UCLA. High expectations
before the season, talk about the future in meaningless platitudes, in
search of redistribution of the conference talent, yet fail because they
can't pull it off with their lack of experience and waning fan support.
