Newest rumor swirling around Sarah Palin is that her eldest son Track is
gay. Track is also a member of the US Army. Sarah Palin believes that gays
should not be allowed to serve. Very odd.

"I spent 5 1/2 years in a prison cell ... not
because I wanted to get a house when I got out."

- John McCain, playing the POW card yet again in order to
explain why he cannot keep track
of how many houses he owns. Makes you wonder
what else he cannot keep track of.

Frankly, though I've seen no rumor, it's the husband who gives off a
certain vague vibe.

I'm just saying. And, yep, I said it.

gay person hates gays...bad combo

Exactly. It's the hypocrisy it would betray that would be the
problem---so much misery caused gays by closeted, self-loathing
officials/advisors who promote discriminatory legislation as part of
their cover.

If the swelling rumors of Palin's cheating on her husband wind up
having any substance (and I've no clue if they do but I certainly would
be no more shocked by revelations of marital infidelity by female
politicians than I am by those of males), you can be sure it will be
closely followed by speculation regarding the husband's sexuality.

Politics is nasty business, and national politics can be lethal. This
chick had better hope her raging ambition does not upend her most
vaunted marketing asset---her "hockey-mom"-ness and their "typical
American family" cred.

Concerning the allegations in the new National Enquirer of an
extramarital affair involving Sarah Palin, I called the tabloid this
afternoon and asked for a copy of the new story. They obliged, and
here is the portion of the story dealing with the alleged affair:

Another incredible allegation emerging from the family war is that
Palin, a mother of five, had an affair with a former business
associate of her fisherman husband, Todd.

“Todd discovered the affair and quickly dissolved his friendship and
his business associations with the guy,” charges an enemy. “Many
people in Alaska are talking about the rumor and say Todd swept it
under the rug.”

What is this "family war"? Hardly sounds like a wholesome American
family to me.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/johnmccain/2680018/Sarah-Palin-affair-rumours-are-false-says-John-McCains-team.html
“The smearing of the Palin family must end,” said McCain senior adviser
Steve Schmidt. “The allegations contained on the cover of the National
Enquirer insinuating that Gov Palin had an extramarital affair are
categorically false. It is a vicious lie.

“The efforts of the media and tabloids to destroy this fine and accomplished
public servant are a disgrace. The American people will reject it.”

===

But the Enquirer was recently vindicated after its long-running pursuit of
John Edwards, a former Democratic presidential candidate, ended with him
admitting he had conducted an extra-marital affair with a filmmaker he had
met in a bar in New York and later employed on his campaign.

The Enquirer responded: “The National Enquirer's coverage of a vicious war
within Sarah Palin's extended family includes several newsworthy
revelations, including the resulting credible charge of an affair plus
details of family strife when the Governor's daughter revealed her
pregnancy.

“Following our John Edwards exclusives, our political reporting has
obviously proven to be more detail-oriented than the McCain campaign's
vetting process. Despite the McCain camp's attempts to control press
coverage they find unfavorable, The Enquirer will continue to pursue news on
both sides of the political spectrum."

The Enquirer has a less-than-stellar track record on truthful news
reporting. Just because they were right on Edwards doesn't forgive years of
a terrible legacy of outright fabrications.

I swear, I cannot believe y'all are taking this crap at face value... total
grasping at any straws to make Palin look bad. Is it true? I guess it
could be -- you're just going to have to offer more proof than "The Enquirer
says it's true." Until then, can we please file it in the kook drawer along
with "Obama abandoned his brother" and "Obama has ties to terrorists"?

And totally unnecessary because her record and lack thereof already make her
look pretty bad IMO.

Oh I know. They usually do not come out and say it is true though, and it
was such a great line.

Well she does, doesn't she? And isn't that the point? That the rules she
would impose on others don't apply to her or her family? .
