Report: Sasha Vujacic Dating Maria Sharapova
11.5.2009 - Updated on 11.5.2009
Lamar Odom's sort-of-marriage to Khlo Kardashian may have been all the
news in Los Angeles over the past few weeks, but it turns out that
they're not the only high-profile lovebirds associated with the Lakers.
If a pair of tweets are to be taken as credible evidence, bench-riding
bomber Sasha Vujacic is dating Maria Sharapova, the former
world-number-one tennis player.
First, the Twitter posts in question:
Maria Sharapova was seen at U2 concert w/Lakers' Sasha Vujacic. The two
were seen cuddling up. An item ? - @darrenrovell1
Sharapova recently began dating the Lakers' Sasha Vujacic. Now if she
can only help "The Machine" get his deadly jump shot back -
@tennisreporters
Can it be true ? Could Sasha Vujacic, a low-profile Laker currently
struggling with his shot, really be the object of Maria Sharapova's
affection ? If NBA players' past pairings with celebrities are
anything to go by, being a shooter with a crooked shot isn't a negative
in the eyes of the ladies. Case in point: Marko Jaric marrying Adriana
Lima. Of course, we shouldn't forget that even though his shooting
percentages are down, Machine's amazing.
Sasharapova looked pretty good last night. And Powell continues to look
better. Maybe Lamar moving to the second unit will be all we need to
have a decent bench again.

Wow Gary! Does this mean you're coming out, finally? (Not that there's
anything wrong with it, no sirree, not at all! - some of my best
friends are...err..."that way.") And in STYLE, too! Sure, Sharapova
looked "pretty good," but that Josh Powell? He continues to look
better. Heck, my preference is only for the ladies, but even I'm
confident in my heterosexuality to admit that yes, Josh Powell is
indeed a very very handsome man. Gimme Sharapova, though. But that's
not our point here: I'm here to applaud Gary in his courage, and I
think most of our fellow denizens in asbnll will support you as well.
(Have you told Mrs Collard?)
All that talk - and it was just that - of bagging cheerleaders as a
youngster, etc: don't you feel a burden lifted now, Gary? I'm proud of
you, man.
And I think you folks are as good as any other Americans and should
have the right to marry just as any of us oh-so-common heteros do.
Go Laker!
Go Collard!
I really don't take any position in the gay/polygamy redefinition of
marriage, I think as long as it's acknowledged that the two are the same
question and it's decided by the voters it's cool.
