to win some big games lately. :) The sick thing is you know Phillup
wanted this game..He's been preaching about how soft their schedule has
been and in Jan., Feb. they were going to have to pay the piper. Now
they have 5 days off...I get the feeling they won't really get too many
of those days "off" now.

Well they would not have had to come back from 24 down against Sac if they
had not been shitty the first half, and Damon won a game they had lost
against the pacers. This is really the first game they have looked like a
team for 4 quarters even when they were winning. And damon's shot tends to
disappear every other game, your guys just happened to fall on his 'on'
night. He knows...

How bout next weekend..SA and Sac back to back. Then Dallas and Minny
the next week. Nice holiday schedule you got there. :)

I still think the only foward in the NBA that matches up with Sheed is
Duncan, and Duncan should be playing center unlike Sheed.

Phillup's been a little edgy lately..Had a rare melt down on Kobe in the
Dallas game..Been kinda snippy with the media. Maybe they need to up his
blood pressure meds

Yup, no blaming anyone or anything this time, the Lakes just got beat.

They'll get today but Monday is gonna be brutal for these guys. They
have to get their defensive rotations down otherwise teams are just
going to keep exploiting mismatches...Now with Slava back he brings a
lot of energy off the bench and as long as he plays well, he is giving
Malone some needed rest. And of course, the games off for KM and Payton
should help keep their legs fresh. :)

Two things stood out from their end:
Wow, Randolph is good. He looked like a guy who would turn into an all
star this year when I saw him last Spring, but I'm starting to wonder if he
isn't "future MVP" good.
Not sure if it is the lack of doobie or not, but Damon is back to where he
was years ago. He was the difference in this one.

Perhaps, but he has a long way to go and needs to improve a lot on defense
before he is a star. He also needs to learn to pass out of the double and
triple teams better. Right now he a blackhole. Then again perhaps his best
assists are to himself, he can find the basket when it looks pretty
unlikely. That was a fairly typical game for him, they do not run a lot of
plays for him despite the team high average on shots.

Confidence from lack of having to look over his shoulder to see who is at
the scorers table.....
Playing off the ball most of the time in many games I think is the key,
mouse the shooting guard....and when he is playing point he is passing now
instead of dribbling the clock down, Pippen and Cheeks finally cured him of
it.

Davis finally has woke up the last two games and Zach just has a nose for
the ball and gets a lot of offensive rebounds. He is averaging over 4, #1
for forwards.
The lakes had the Blazers shooting outside all night. In the paint was
lopsided lakers favor 60 something to 30 something IIRC. Of course most of
'Sheed's were low post. But the long shots provided a lot of long rebounds
for the guards to run down too.

Med is better than he was, but still a defensive liability. Malone is a
great post defender, but once someone like sheed gets off it's too late.

Just going from memory, it seems to me that Sheed has always played
well against Minny. Not that KG can be shut down by anyone, but he can
be forced (enticed) to shoot 20 ft jumpers by players who play good
post D and can get away with the little holds and shoves that only
respected defenders get in the NBA. If it came down to who can
defend/score more from the outside, I would give a slight edge to
Sheed, except on nights when he decides to ride the officials... which
usually means he'll start picking up the ticky-tack fouls away from
the basket.
You are right, KG is another great matchup for Sheed, but it just
seems to me well their play has mostly resulted in a wash.

Yeah, they usually hold each other to their averages. But the same can be
said of the 'Sheed/ Duncan or Webber matchups usually. The difference with
KG is that they can guard each other outside better.

McInnis too. Just about the whole team for that matter (except Wallace who
is the reverse)...which is why they have yet to get a road win...

It has been every other night at home too most of the time. He had another
good game in the Bucks loss though. 21 pts on 9-17, 10 asts to 1 TO.

Yeah, nothing's very significant at this point in the season. But some
things have still happened :)

Have you taken a modern art history class to complement the Jazz Studies? The
reciprocating influences would be interesting.
Have you taken any philosophy courses as part of your GE?
