We're about a month away from the new NBA season, and I realized we
never really discussed what would happen with the BPL next year, who
the new commish will be, etc. Well, I wanted to let everybody know
that as much as love the BPL and enjoy the company, I don't think I'll
participate this year.
The part of me that cared about the NBA has been forcibly ripped from
my soul. It doesn't even hurt anymore; it's just missing. I can't whip
up any enthusiasm at all about anything relating to basketball. Maybe
the passion will return next year, maybe it won't. So - god speed my
friends, and enjoy.
If anybody's interested in a co-manager, I wouldn't mind still being
around the league and participating in the message board hijinks from
time to time. I just don't care enough right now to be a good team
owner.
Cheers,
Chris Hafner
We understand.
I think co-managing's a great idea. Maybe you could team up with Dave.
He's also been pressed for time the past two seasons. Also, I think
maintaining a connection to the Sonics franchise -- Dave's in Tulsa --
might do you some good.
SV
You're killing me Hafner.
Rizzo
Good call Sashank. Always thinkin'.
Thanks Sashank - I was with you until the connection to the Sonics
franchise. The Sonics franchise is dead. Dead, do you hear me, DEAD!
I hope the Thunder lose every game while Nick Collison puts up 30 and
10 every night.
Cheers,
Chris Hafner
There will be a new and improved Seattle franchise soon enough.
This is sorta like wishing you're ex-girlfriend, who broke your heart
by sleeping with your best friend, winds up in hardcore porn, dirtied
and degraded -- except for her mouth, because you can't stand the
thought of that tongue piercing you bought her for her 16th birthday
being defiled.
Sashank, you should have been a poet.
Cheers,
Chris Hafner
