Comcast Dropping Newsgroups

true, but it won't stop someone from just using google newsgroups...

And I imagine that the reason that Comcast is dropping newsgroup
service is to try to stop people from accessing binary groups and
using up a lot of bandwidth.
There are free news servers out there. Here's a link to a site
that might prove useful:

yeah, just use Google Groups. the interface stinks but it's better
than nothing.

If free is not a huge concern I use individual.net which charges 10
euros a year to support the servers. It is an university program and
usenet is their main thing.
I have charter but prefer the German one. They strip out most of the
spam and the html and crap with a program called "Cleanfeed".No binary
groups to get cross posted. Well worth a buck a month or so to me.
