This is a good thing.
6.4 million is cheap for a player who can score 20 a game off the
bench.
He can be traded, with the catch that he has to approve the trade. He
will approve a trade almost anywhere.
So now he becomes a valuable commodity. We can pair him with Hughes,
as the sweetener to dump that contract. More interestingly, we can
pair him with Gooden to get a quality player. Think about it. Both are
legit NBA starters. Gooden can rebound and get garbage points. Gordon
can score. Neither is ancient. Both are in the last year of their
contracts. I say we wait for a good young SG or PF to come available,
and make this trade.
On an unrelated note, Aaron Gray apparently hired himself a chef and a
trainer this summer and lost 30 pounds of fat. He and Noah might
emerge this season as a nice tandem in the middle.
Are you sure it was fat he lost?
Doh. You're right. It turns out he had a testicle removed.
