talent-wise, i see him as a marginal improvement over bynum. he's a
better team defender (which will be necessary with a sieve like steve
nash at point guard), but i don't see him as a better on-the-ball
defender (might not even be as good), and of course his offense is
considerably worse. now, as to attitude - i dunno. on the court, bynum
has shown a high knucklehead quotient; howard seems to show that quality
more *off* the court. kobe'll make him toe the line in short order
either way.
it'll be an interesting experiment, to say the least. i'm not sure the
lakers improved as much as people seem to be saying they did. and you've
still got a major hole at sf there (yes, they got jamison, but if you
think he can play the '3' for anything other than short bursts with his
defensive deficiencies you've got another thing coming). metta is
offensively shot.
