The best team money can buy (and the least deserving) won. The uneven competitive balance for the best players is driving away intelligent people from MLB. The current financial structure of MLB, with no meaningful revenue sharing or players caps, places the Yankees on the top position, since most teams can't compete with them in paying for the best players.... more »

Big Market Teams In Playoffs

If you didn't notice, the 4 finalists in the Playoffs for the American and National League Championships were all Big Market teams. If you believe that was pure coincidence, I know of a bridge I'd like to sell you. Since Philadelphia was the smallest Big Market Team to get into the World Series, and the Yankees the largest, I will root for the Phillies to win.... more »

...The umpires can (at the request of a manager) review a home run or foul call. Why can't they do the same for balls hitting near the foul lines on the field?

Umpire Blows Fair/Foul Call In Left Field

During the October 9 Twins/Yankees Game, the left field umpire blew a fair/foul call. He called an obvious fair ball foul, hurting the Twins. It was so bad that the crew chief apologized at a news conference afterwards. Why can't such a call be reviewed via instant replay, like is done with home run calls?... more »
