I'd much rather have seen Bob Gibson throw out the first pitch and
Stan Musial be interviewed in the booth. But a politician saw an
opportunity to shore up his flagging approval ratings. He could count
on getting a happy face photo op greeting from the many black players.
Coming off the plane with Willie Mays was a classic Reaganesque type
photo op. Those dissatisfied naive leftists who thought they were
voting for a "peace candidate" were not in the happy pictures.

Except that politician happened to be President of the US, and the
first black one at that.

On July 14, 2009, the 88-year-old Musial delivered the ceremonial
first pitch ball to President Barack Obama at the All-Star Game at
Busch Stadium in St. Louis, to a thunderous ovation from the crowd.

At least he showed up sober and got the ball over the plate and didn't knock
out some blind guy or walk into an elevator shaft.

He didn't remind anyone of Sandy Kolfax out there, but Pujols, playing
catcher, was able to field it with a minimum of effort. He didn't
disgrace himself.

With bowling at one end of the spectrum and three pointers at the
other, I wondered if there was anything he was just mediocre at...

Obama didn't run over drunk and give the umpire a backrub at a game he
wasn't even invited to or pat an Olympic volleyball plasyer on the ass after
a snort of coke and a shot of Jack, either.
Moral is; It's good to have a President, again.

That too - the back-story is Governor Bush swindled Texas to evict ranchers on
land where he wanted to build the ball park.

The state retaliated by groveling before him and sucking his unit dry during his
run for the preziduncy...

Did presidential handler Rahm Emmanuel tell him where to throw the

And you crawled on your hands and knees after the ball, hoping for a
"boost in the rear."

Bailout Obama took a stolen base with the federal budget and hit
a triple with the deficit.
