Most baseball observers over age 35 know that Fidel Castro played
baseball as a youth and student and still follows the game.
And most of us know that because MLB has at least eight teams too
many, and not enough big-league talent to fill 'em, we're actually
paying $60 a game to see Triple-A level baseball in big league parks.
So might'nt now be the time to sell a franchise to Cuba -- Castro --
in return for opening Cuba to unlimited tourism and entry-level
democratic ideals? Be a giant diplomatic coup!
And all Havana'd go crazy over a team.
