Description: All about Washington DC pro baseball

Boz: "They say it every year. They never do it."
Nats' Commitment to MLB: The average salary in MLB is over $3 million, yet the Nats, in all years under the Lerners, have NEVER traded for anyone who makes average salary. Willingham is the highest at $2.95 million. How do you interpret this? Tom Boswell: I think I am on record several times with an interpretation of... more »

Tim Foli becomes the Nats Quality Control Coach
From Bill Ladson's (I know) blog: "Tim Foli is expected to be a quality control coach with the Nationals, according to manager Jim Riggleman. Foli will be involved in batting practice before games and be an advisor to Riggleman and general manager Mike Rizzo. Foli, who is considered one of the best teachers in the organization, will also help develop players... more »

RHP Juan Jaime LHP Atahualpa Severino LHP Aaron Thompson to protect them from the Dec. 10 Rule 5 draft. Wanna-be blogger/Journalist Tracee Hamilton from WAPO has been promoting Josh Wilkie but he wasn't added. Wilkie has pitched well so that is a bit of a surprise. John Patterson Jr or Shaun Hill Jr?
Bonus Baby Strasburg injuries his knee and won't pitch in the AFL Final. Don't worry, the WAPO claimed, "the injury is not considered serious," which based on this team's history means a team of oxycotin scarfing dentists and drunk vets are attempting to reattach Strasburg's leg. PS. Boras already cashed the check so don't waste your time asking, Stan.... more »

Davey Johnson rejoins the Nats as an adviser to Mike Rizzo
Not sure the blogs and their ilk remember it, but Johnson was the adviser to Jim Bowden when MLB owned the team. Not sure when he left. Too bad no real journalists cover the team.

Nats talk to Jamey Carroll
Normally, I hate the "bring back the old guy" thinking. Some dopes on blogs even promote signing Brian Schneider, but I think bringing Carroll back makes sense. He batted .276 last season for Cleveland. He can play any infield or outfield position.

Nats talk to John Lackey

Wrong about Foli
John McLaren (Riggleman was his bench coach in Seattle) was hired to be bench coach. McLaren has been spending his time scouting for the Rays.
