I really hate this move.......
He hasn't been hitting well and falling into some bad habits. Allowing
a guy to reach second because he wasn't hustling yesterday sealed his
fate. He could be back in a couple of weeks if he hits well at
Syracuse. Dunn, Johnson, or Willingham will be gone via trades and will
open a spot for him.

I can't tell about the hustle, except the few highlights I see. But,
being ostracized in the clubhouse because of his "presence" and "intensity",
while getting jerked around playing CF....... I guess not being Manny's pet
and others getting a pass for their "stellar" play.... It's not like he's
the only one slumping at the plate badly.
The truth is somewhere between your two view points. Early in the
season, when he was batting in the .300s, Dukes was arriving at the
ballpark before everyone and taking an extra hour of bp. It is no
longer true and his average is suffering. Acta's dislike of him is
probably due to Duke's work ethic. If Dukes worked hard, he would
succeed. He's learned the hard way what not hustling in the OF can do,
but he still lacks hustle from time to time. Hopefully, he'll listen to
Foli's instruction and be back in 3 weeks.

It seems he gets so many outfield assists because he loafs around in
the outfield getting to singles/doubles and doubles/triples.
Of course, Dunn doesn't like to run for balls either, and doesn't have
the arm that Dukes has to make up for his lack of hustle.
Hopefully someone can do something about Elijah's horrible
baserunning.
Ah, so things have changed. I re-read the article from when they signed
him, and Acta was to be his father figure, as well as Dmitri being his
mentor. I just can't help being suspicious about what's really going on,
especially since the little league incident. How can he be late if he has a
chaperone, unless he's given up on trying for whatever reason.
Manny's "Mr. Positive" public image is wearing thin on me, if there's
something quite different behind the scenes.
