Whew, thought they almost let that guy get away.......Rizzo can close up
shop for the hot stove season now....

"The Nationals signed right-handed pitchers Joel Peralta, Logan Kensing
and Ryan Speier, catcher Jamie Burke, infielder Pete Orr and outfielder
Jerry Owens to minor league contracts."

What IS the infatuation with Kensing? Where it Lavale Speigner?

Assuming he isn't Rizzo's son-in-law, I guess he's just a warm body to
fill the pen at Syracuse. Hope we got the bulk rate for signing all
six. They'll be placed on a pallet, shrink wrapped, and shipped to
Florida using parcel post.

Logan is a team guy who always accepts his assignment after being DFA'd.
Who wouldn't want him on the roster.....I wish they could sign him to a long
term minor league deal that requires him to stay there...

I saw Levale on the roster of a Winter League team, but I can't find
which one...maybe Venezuelan League..

Found this, though....
"On June 9, facing two-time Cy Young award winner Johan Santana, Speigner
threw a gem, six innings, two hits, and one run, earning a 3-1 victory over
the Minnesota Twins."

Rizzo likes his inventory. Hopefully, they'll all pad their minor league
stats, especially games played...
