Aren't these words posted in every MLB clubhouse?
So, assuming he could read, he saw this every day of his career:
"Any player, umpire, or club or league official or employee, who shall bet
any sum whatsoever upon any baseball game in connection with which the
bettor has a duty to perform shall be declared permanently ineligible."
He thought that he was above the rules,
got caught, and still thinks he's above the rules.
Don't interject those affected by dope or steroids.
They are wrong also, and don't affect violations of what Rose
knew were clearly defined rules.
He knew what he was doing.
He knew the consequences.
Tough shit.
P.S. -
Maybe Cooperstown will build a "Cheater's Wing"
where Rose, Bonds, A-Rod, et al. can be "enshrined".

It's worth noting that Bonds still hasn't been proven to have done
anything wrong. Don't let that get in the way, though... heh.
As for Cooperstown, put it on the plaque if need be... but to deny the
accomplishments of those 'cheaters' took place is just childish. Put
the background on the plaque and educate future generations.

The 4,256 hits weren't steroid-tainted. You can't say the same for A-
Rod's numbers, or Bonds, or McGwire, etc.

My perception of Pete Rose is one from a Big Red Machine fan.
I was born in 1955, in Central Ohio.
Was at the 1st WS game in 1976 vs. the Yankees.
Still have the ticket stub.
Hated the veto of the Vida Blue trade.
My take on Rose is my own and legitimate.
It's not my fault that Rose saw/sees himself as above the rules.

THEN you don't care for those who think, and sometimes are, above the rules.

Here you go again, evading the issues. Pete Rose will never get in the
Hall with things like you supporting him. What good do you think you
do for his cause. You are the Dr. Jack Kevorkian of the Pete Rose
advocates. You probably make more people hate Pete Rose than hate you,
although that is unjust as Pete is not responsible for your behavior.
