Go for Beltre if he refuses arbitration? I don't like the idea of bringing
back Khalil Greene. They definitely need power at that spot if Holliday
isn't going to return.

Mozeliak is blowing it big time.

DeRosa is gone, Jason Bay signed with the Mets and Mozeliak has
seemingly put all of the Cardinals eggs in Holliday's basket.

He's not going to get Holliday.

He's not going to get anyone of note.

The sports knuckleheads on TV and radio here seem to think Bay signing
with the Mets helps the Cardinals by removing one more team from the
hunt. I think exactly the opposite. One less very good free agent on
the market makes Holliday more appealing to the remaining teams. I'm
sorely disappointed in Mr. Mozeliak.

According to reports here, Freese may be in violation of his probation
from a California DUI/DWI (?) and could very well be jailed.
