Yeah, I guess it must actually be fun to be a judgmental, self-righteous,
arrogant asshole, since there are so many of them around and they seem to be
enjoying themselves.  Given his antipathy toward Barry Bonds, it's strange
Roy isn't foaming at the mouth too.

When I go to spring training next March, I hope I get the opportunity to
thank Mr. McGwire for coming back to the Cardinals and trying to help make
them a better team.  If this influences Mr. Holliday's thinking at all, it's
worth it right there.

I was expecting his head to explode. On the one hand, McGwire will
help the hitters on the team, which is good. On the other hand, he's a
Cheater, so he's scum and should be taken out and lynched. Two such
contradictory issues should have caused head explosion.

I'm right there with you, Jeanne.

I'm wearing a poncho as I type this to avoid the mess of exploding
heads! ;-)

I'm surprised he having his cake and eating it, too. I didn't think
Roy could do two things at once.

I'd love it if Holliday was influenced by McGwire being the hitting
coach.

If McGwire can keep Yadi from swinging at the first pitch with runners
in scoring position, he'll more than have earned his salary.

As for Roy... so much material, so little time.

______________

I'll be happy if he can work with Ludwick to lay off stuff low out of the
strike zone.  He has reminded me of Willie McGee, who also couldn't seem to
resist swinging at pitches below his knees.
