So, when it seems likely that Cueto will be traded in the next 2 weeks,
he goes on the disable list, possibly lowering his trade value.

And now that the Astros have shown interest in Samardzija, who has been
very good for 2 months, suddenly stinks up the joint to a pathetic
offense, possibly lowering his trade value?

And of course, Belt just strained his wrist, possibly lowering his
trade value.

They're screwing with us, right?

Take whatever you can from the Astros. Ballboy, can of nacho cheese, minor league usher...anything to get rid of Sarmardijia and his 19.8 mil a year contract. Matt Moore has 1 mil buyout option. Thats 21 mil off the books and plenty of money to go after a top notch player. Maybe Stanton in left field. Cain,Pence,Nunez, and maybe Cueto will be gone soon too.

The hell you say!? Get rid of Samardzija and his impressive strike
out totals? That's about all the Giants have to say after one of his
games. Moore can't go soon enough, but I think the Giants are stuck
with Pence for another year, right?

Cueto should go. He's trending down and it started last year. Either
get someone not named Verlander (expensive, money also offered, but
he's 34 and 5-9 this year).

Pineda might be on the market, but being a Yankee and having had Tommy
John surgery, he needs to be given a wide berth. I know Bobby Evans
seems to lust after elbow surgery pitchers.

Cain $21M (absolute garbage for many years already)
Samardzija $19.8M (half garbage but not worth the salary)
Cueto $21.8M (he doesn't want to stay or he wants more money)
Moore $7M (just turned garbage this year)

The Giants can free up $70M right there! Hell, they can go after
Harper with that kind of money! And still have plenty left for at
least 2 more players.

Next year's rotation might be unrecognizable.

Hopefully Samardzija will have 2 more strong starts so Houston will
bite.
