Another surprisingly decent game from the HR Derby twin Samardzija.
Sure, he gave up 3 HRs, but 7 innings 3 ER 8 K should be good enough
for a win. Too bad he got cained with only 1 run of support.
Shockingly he pitched as well as anyone in the last 5 starts:
Cain 7 ER
Blach 3 ER (OK Blach was better, despite the 3ER)
Cueto 4 ER
Moore 4 R, 3 ER
Samardzija 3 ER
And his previous start was of course the amazing 8IP 0ER game in which
Arroyo was the hero in extra innings.
If both he and Cain are somehow getting their acts together, the Giants
have a chance. If both of them suck, then...
