Jonathan Sanchez for Melky Cabrera. Wow what a trade! KC totally got
robbed! Highway robbery. They should call the police. :-)

We all know about his hitting by now, but man, did you see that throw
he made tonight? A bullet on the fly to Posey for a double play. Holy
smoke. He also made a great catch the night before. The guy can do it
all.

Meanwhile, our supposedly World Series Ace Quality lefty has been
totally stinking up the joint in KC. He had a bunch of starts and
never pitched more than 5 innings all year. His ERA is 6.75. Now he's
pulled a suck muscle, placed on DL.

What I worry now is Melky's next contract. Can the Giants afford to
re-sign him if he keeps this up?

I liked it when I thought Melky wasn't going to be all that good. Right
now, it's like the great train robbery.

What I worry about is them having that same giddiness they had before they
gave Huff his contract.

That's got to be a total steal for the Giants. Tough luck for Stinky,
he's reaping all that he's sown throughout his career of uninspring

Re-sign him Melky!

Well, Huff is old and over the hill while Melky is young and in his
prime. If he can keep this up, I don't see how he can come cheap.

Should I ask again? How do you like the Sanchez/Melky trade *now*? :-)

Wow, 4 for 4, a HR, 2 steals, scored all 3 Giants' runs, and we needed
every one of those runs today.

He has 73 hits through today. Torres had 77 hits all of last year.

And we still have 3 more games to go before June arrives.

So how much do you think the Giants should offer him?

Well, I don't think this is going to be a normal year for him. I don't
see them getting away with less than $8M a year for several years though.

Melky is making 6 mil this year. If he contines at this pace he'll get something like 4 yrs 42 mil. If Sanchez continues to pitch shitty for KC I could see him returning to the Giants for free.LOL
KC got screwed on the trade. Melky's replacement Lorenzo Cain been on the DL all season long and Cain's replacement Dyson is batting .250.

Angel Pagan has been surprising too.Andres Torres has been stinking up New York and fans are calling him nothing but a 4th OF.

The real steal may be Blanco. They got him for nothing.

If that happens, I won't be laughing. :-)

That actually sounds like a praise to me since I think of him as no
more than a 5th OF. :-)

So we basically dumped 2 pieces of garbage for 2 decent bats. With
Pablo on DL, Melky and Pagan are leading the lineup in BA at the
moment.

His numbers this year actually doesn't look that far off from his other
years. He's always had a good OBP. I guess other teams just gave up
on him.

Sanchez hasn't been a real bargain for the Royals either. He's 2-4
this season and hasn't pitched since May 7th. He's on the 15 Day DL
and starts a rehab stint at Triple-A Omaha today (Tuesday).

The Sanchez for Melky trade is awesome and hope the Giants can resign for 4-5 years in $9-10 million range. I liked Melkies's quote about his 4 hit days and being mentioned in same breadth as Willie Mays.

Haven't posted for several years but posted under this email account since 1995 and prior email in 93-94; maybe 100+ posts total.

Like Pagan and Blanco and Hector Sanchez too.

Worry about Timmy, arm and head.

Go Giants. I went to games every year from 1959 to 2003 but none since. My grandfather was born in Oakland and was signed (and failed) as a pitcher by the SF Seals in 1900 decade. He became a owner and operator of a northern California hunting and fishing resort and guide service from 1911 to 1959 on the Klamath River.

Feel like a voyeur in seeing some of the same screennames for so many years.

He just broke one of Mays' record today: most hits in the month of May.
Mays had 49. Melky now has 50.

This morning I heard on KNBR that some guy wrote in and said that the
Giants should rename their triple's alley to "The Melky Way". :-) They
pronounced it almost like The Milky Way.

Your name does look familiar.

Especially after watching a year of the Whiteside/Stewart platoon.

Same here. He's had bad stretches before in the last 2 years but I was
never really worried. This year I am.

That can't be me. My screenname is only 1 day old.
