I don't post often to this group because I'm one of those Giants fans
who is optimistic every spring, I believe the term here is fool, and
some of you people really have claws. Not in a malicious way, but I
doubt I could hold my own with some of you. Getting to the point, even
the gloomiest of you amateur forcasters have to be pleased with a sweep
of the Marlins. I'm the dumbest of the dumb when it comes to irrational
optimism, but when I found out the pitching card today, even I didn't
think it would be the Giants' Fernandez to get the shutout. I sure hope
this carries over into the Alanta series.

P.S. Even with all the grumbling about Vizcaino's bunting, you have to
admit the one he laid down in the ninth inning on Friday was PERFECT.
If he's going to be doing a lot of bad bunting he sure picked a great
time to lay a good one down.
I believe that in the following regard, I can speak for all of us who've
consistently trashed Brian Sabean and the rest of the Giants' "brain
trust": We *all* want to be proven wrong, not only this year but for the
next several. We *all* want to be able to say, "Huh. Looks like Sabean
*isn't* an idiot." Or, at least, "He may be an idiot, but his moves sure
worked." Forgive me if there's a Giants fan here for whom I'm *not*
speaking.

He, we *love* this team. We're *stoked*. Sure, many of us are thinking
that doom and despair lurk just around the corner, but right now, things
are sweet.

Ditto.

So was the one on Saturday.

It's not so much *Vizcaino's* bunting that's so bothersome; it's Dusty's
tendency to utilize every possible "bunt situation" as such.
