Happy New Year.

I look at the expensive contracts for four players now, and I wonder
why the giants could not have signed a premium player, and that
does not include Zito's ridiculous contract. If you add Rowands
12 mil plus Renteria's 9 mil. and Sanchez's 6 mil, and DeRosa's
6 mil for this year. that is 33 million on what? And, if you add
Zito 51 million for ?????????????. Mays and McCovey must
be wondering why they were born too early to totally capitalize
on baseball money, when average, aging talent, need a brinks
truck to deposit their checks.
After DeRosa hits 20 hr and plays all over the field, you will like
it, and Wayne will be posting Mark DeRosa threads three times a day.
And he has power. He's hit around 20 home runs the past two years. Not
huge power, but more than any giant except Lard lad.
I understand he can play virtually anywhere on the field, but
hellooo...chemistry?? I'd love a solid, everyday lineup instead of
Bochy's forced juggling routine. I'm all for flexibility, but I can't
think of a winning team ever that had guys playing everywhere all the
time. Our next big move is Juan Uribe. We now have what? 4 role
players with no defined position? I don't like it...

Uribe could be set up as the shortstop full time.
Imagine your a dreamer? Uribe now will want to rip up his intended
contract, and will ask for DeRosa type dollars!
And sit Renteria at $9 million?!? C'mon...the Giants run crappy,
overpaid vets out there daily for some reason. Grrr....you guys aren't
helping.

I know DLew will be really upset by this, but I agree with DLew.
Why would I be upset with you either way? Just because I may have
disagreed with you at some point doesn't mean I hate you or disregard
everything you say. Sheesh...it's a conversation ;-)
