So far I've heard about Dan Uggla, Mark DeRosa, and Jermaine Dye.

Of those three, Uggla I feel is the best choice. While DeRosa can play
1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, RF, his career OBP of .343 with an average of .275
is not too impressive, especially with a .319 OBP in 2009.

Uggla has a higher OBP with a lower average, and significantly more
power which from what I can tell, does not seem to be from a park
effect, as his home/away numbers seem to fluctuate each year.

Jermaine Dye is an awful choice, a PMLV that can hit .250 with 20
HR... with one great season in 2006.

If we could afford it getting Uggla and DeRosa would help us a lot.
DeRosa could play a Chone Figgins role, filling in where needed. Uggla
could take 2nd, Sanchez 3rd, and Sandoval 1st.

There is also Nick Johnson, but he hasn't shown much power in a full
season since 2006.

For OBP, he's great though, and that would keep Sandoval at third.

Uggla is not a free agent, and must be obtained via trade.

Molina and Uribe are gone ... there goes over 1/2 of the run support for the
Giants. Not half really .. but as far as RBI's go, Molina was #2, Uribe was
# 4, Winn was #5.
Giants who were #29 out of 30 teams in the league scored 612 runs (SD Scored
7 fewer) and those guys who are not on the team - accounted for 27% of the
teams runs ... they were 3 out of the top 5 hitters for us - we still
have Pablo and Rowand.

What are the chances that Sabean the 'master of ineptitude',can get some
better guys to replace them. Uribe was a lucky find ... a free agent walk
on at the
begginning of the season and he played in 122 games and had 398 AB which was
7th on the team AB.

I personally don't see how the Giants are going to move up very far in the
RBI category .. and more than liley will be last place this year. They could
easily improve if they got some better hitters than what they had, but I
don't see Sabean pulling right strings.
