The Rose Award goes to Andy LaRoche of the Pittsburgh Pirates, who
went two-for-four with three RBI and scored two runs in a 8-5 win over
the New York Mets.

The Pirates scored five runs in the eighth inning. The Mets had a
record of 22-1 when leading after seven innings.

Without my usual hostility toward Pete's followers, I think the award
should have gone to Mark Texeira as being hit by pitch twice and
especially the takeout slide to breakup the DP were more like Pete at
his best than going two for four, as fine as that performance was.

makes a civil comment about your "awards," or you can't.

Eat shit, you toothless Pete Rose fan. He's not going in the Hall
while he draws breath. It's kind of unjust but it angers you, so it's
good.
