Subject: about Yogi Berra
Besides being one of the finest citizens of the Nation of Baseball, Yogi
is a veteran of World War II- US Navy, Gunners Mate. He was at Normandy
on D-Day.

Does anyone know what ship Gunners Mate Berra was assigned to that day?
I can't find any info on the Web...

The USS Rose.

Btw, at Normandy some Germans shouted "You Yanks don't stand a
chance!!!"  Berra shouted back, "The war ain't over 'til it's over!!!"
