Probably so. They just have to disconnect eligibility for the Hall
from the ban from organized baseball. These things were never
connected before the Pete Rose rule and it is unfair to treat Pete any
WORSE than Joe Jackson and the other scum. But he should never be
allowed to work in organized baseball again.
And then it is up to the voters. You could create easily three all-
time all-star teams where Rose would not have a chance of starting.
Leaving out the positions he never played/could not play
First Base: Gherig, McCovey, Foxx (leaving out active players)
Pete Played Second but not for long
Third Base: Schmidt, Mathews, Santo
Outfielders (I'm only naming six as Rose could not play CF, so also no
CFers)
Ruth, Musial, Ted Williams, Frank Robinson, Clemente, Kaline
I could name a couple more teams' worth of players.
But that is not the standard for the Hall. He was a very good player
for a long time.
