All 3 of KC's runs were directly related to OF miscues -- Span had the other
2. Ironic because it's the IF and LF defense that's been killing the Twins
while CF and RF have actually been huge plusses for the team ever since Span
was called up. In that one game Span and Gomez really let the team down and
obviously it really cost em).

Yeah... Punto easily leads the team in stupid baserunning plays. He's been
picked off twice, the play yesterday was horrible, and remember when he got
tagged out at second because he thought a 3-2 count was ball four? The guy
just isn't very bright.
Add in Gomez and Young, whose collective baseball IQ barely registers, and
Casilla/Harris/Buscher, who are all questionable, and you've got a lot of
players who don't quite seem to understand what to do in key situations.
Mauer, Morneau, and Span are the only guys I trust not to pull some
boneheaded play in a clutch situation...
For the most part, I wouldn't call Reyes' bad pitches not doing the "little
things" right -- to me, there's a world of difference between hanging a
slider and not being in the right position for a throw or getting picked
off. Pitchers can't control exactly where a ball is going to end up or how
it will break.
