The player to be named later in the Boof Bonser deal with the Red Sox
is pitcher 24 year old Chris Province. He had a pretty good year last
year in AA ball. A former starter that Boston was converting into a
reliever pitched 79.2 innings, allowed 72 hits and struck out 55. He
had an ERA of only 2.60, but his WHIP was 1.31, indicating he gave up
a lot of walks. Indeed, he allowed 32 walks in those 79.2 IP.

In early 2008, as a starter at A level he looked really good--2.86
ERA, WHIP of 1.09. Then he was promoted to A-advanced league and he
got hammered--6.26 ERA, WHIP of 1.75.

From what you say, his upside appears at least as high as Boof's.
