In other news, the drug stores near powrwarp's home are already seeing a
decrease in Tums, Alka-Seltzer, Pepto-Bismol and Prilosec sales.

Nah, I had a prescription for Prilosec. Won't need to renew that
anymore.

The twinsbaseball.com story suggests that this move means that Nick
Punto will be the everyday 2B, leaving Cabrera out, I guess. This
means Punto's defense is worth more than O's offense? Interesting.
It does make the outfield look more predictable, not that
predictability is necessarily a virtue. And I really felt like I had
seen enough of Gomez, though my thought was they should send him to
AAA to learn, not necessarily get rid of him.

I know a lot of fans were upset that the Twins didn't get Hardy last
year, but he had an awful 2009 season, which, about mid season made me
happy (that he wasn't a Twin), and happier still when the Twins picked
up Cabrera. Has anyone given any sort of reason for why Hardy's
production should have fallen off so badly in 2009?

Interesting deal. Looks like we're "buying low" on Hardy. I'm always
suspicious now of players who suddenly fall off, but ... time will
tell.

I'll miss watching Gomez prowling center field. Won't miss watching
him wave helplessly at pitches a foot out of the zone, though. Will be
interesting to see where he's at in 5 years.

Wonder why he had such a terrible year last year? You know?

I'll miss watching him out in center field too. I"ll miss that little
hop of his as he gets ready to throw the ball in. <G> And hey, he
isn't the ONLY Twin who goes after those balls out of the strike
zone. I'll miss his smile as he rounds 3rd base heading for home.
On a home run? Nah, not many of those. It will be fun to watch his
growth throughout the league. Hope it doesn't come back to bite us.

I have no idea. Just in this era, any time a player goes from very
productive to very unproductive so quickly, and with no explanation,
there's instant suspicion. It's unfair, to be sure, but ... it creeps
into my mind that one explanation could be a change in ....
pharmaciticals.

No. No, I don't think that at all. And if that were the case (it's
not), he's not much of a professional, now, is he?

Of course he's a professional......but he's also human. <G>

Guess we'll see how he is in 2010.
