Hey, thanks for letting us know. We would have had no idea otherwise.

Really, what was the point of going out of your way to stick that in our
faces, other than to be the stereotypical obnoxious Yankee fan?

Just Wondering.

But he hasn't tested postive for steroids for the past several years,
so I'm going to assume the Yankees just as clean (or steroid-infested)
as the Twins.

How much credit do the Yankees need? If you consider their fanbase as "part
of the team," as many claim, then they've got a bigger team than all the
others combined.

It was just that I noticed a conspicuous absence of a "Guess who's in the
ALDS?" message in the Tigers newsgroup after 163 and, likewise, no
crossposting of this message anywhere else. So are you just trolling here
until preseason?

On a personal note, there are four teams in MLB that I unilaterally root
against. Two of them are going to the World Series. So I'm going to find
other things to be preoccupied with until early November, when the Twins are
once again undefeated.

I would wager that the big $$$ guys on the Yankee's don't juice, or
at least have better trainers/dealers that know how to get around
the testing with new "supplements" and "boosters".

The Angels were certainly a better team than the Twins this season,
and they gave the Yankee's a better run in the playoffs this year, as
expected.

The Yankee's are good this year, no doubt. That still doesn't make
them a team that I like or cheer for, though.

I don't really care about the Phillies one way or the other, but I do
plan on cheering for them in the WS this season. "Anyone but
the Yankee's" is always my mantra if the Yanks make the WS.

"Everyone" jumped on the Angels are the better team bandwagon?

Show me one person from this group that said the Angels were better
than the Yankees.

Me??? Nah, I didn't say that but wished I could have. I was anxious
for Torii Hunter to go to the big game with the Angels.

Every time I see A-Rod swing that bat it reminds me of the steriod
scene. He's not the only one, I know, but it pains me to be reminded
that this fiasco isn't over with yet.

Way to go, Mr. Sensitivity.

That's an interesting response in at least a few different ways, but
permit me just these observations:

1. Osama bin Laden = Bad
New York Yankees = bad

2. The people who died on 9-11-01 were not just New Yorkers (it might
be a shock for you to learn that not quite everything is about you
alone), but also Americans, of which I am also one, so lighten up,
Francis.

3. You are the one who brought up bin Laden. I guess that was way
back yesterday when he was still funny.

brianj

So they are both equally bad, no difference between the two. Bad for
one, bad for the other.
Now I understand.

Sorry my subtlety was lost on you. I wasn't thinking about your being
a Yankees fan. I will repeat:

Osama bin Laden = Bad (note the capital B)
New York Yankees = bad (note the lower case b)

Two different levels of Bad/bad.

I will try to be more direct with you next time.

I noticed you did not have a lot to say about my other two
observations. It reminds me of a time some nut came here and claimed
that we all had said the Angels were a better team than the Yankees,
but when called on it, had to whimper on home with his/her tail
between his/her legs.

Only if Osama Bin Laden played for the Phillies.

But, as a veteran, I think I would have to take Osama Bin Laden out
before he ever set foot on the field.

Besides, I bet his batting average sucks, so it wouldn't be a big loss
for the Phillies. ;-)

Actually, I think if Osama Bin Laden were a baseball player, he'd be a
pitcher due to his obsession of striking out all his opponents.

Two things:

For the record, it was not I who invoked the name. I'm just saying.

Well. let's see. Guess I should have said you'd root for a Nazi or for
Hitler before you'd root for the Yankees.
Then again, you guys have nothing on the Red Sox newsgroup. There, one
adherent says bin laden, 9/11 and the yankees are all equally bad. So
compared with them, you play nice.
