The Rose Award goes to Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals, who
went four-for-five with six RBI and scored two runs in a 12-5 win over
the Kansas City Royals.

Pujols hit two home runs.

It was the 2,500th win for Tony LaRussa, who joined Connie Mack
(3,831) and John McGraw (2,763) as the only managers with that many
victories.

Tommy Lasorda tried but he kept falling asleep at the seventh-inning
stretch.
