The Rose Award goes to Jim Thome of the Chicago White Sox, who went
three-for-four with three RBI and scored two runs in a 4-2 win over
the Kansas City Royals.

delayed a day because of bad weather. Thome's 542nd career homer
erased a solid outing by the Royals' Gil Meche, who pitched seven
