Actually, prior to the season, Leyland didn't have a new contract, and I
thought they were taking a 'wait n see' approach, whether to resign him.
After their last place finish, last season, and a less than impressive
exhibition season, I was hoping they'd wait until the end of the season
to decide. But, they resigned him earlier this season, for 2 more
years. I don't know if they'd fire him now, if they lose to Minnesota
? But, maybe, they ought to think about it. Leyland has done "good"
by Detroit, but he is NO Sparky Anderson.

I hear Bobby Valentine is back from Japan.

Yes and Leyland has nowhere the talent Sparky had either.
