I can only wonder how things might have gone if Leyland hadn't left
his closer in for so long. Not fair at all to Rodney to expect him to
go that long. And it's not like they were easy innings either. I think
there was one 1-2-3, and the rest were all hard innings.
Anyway, it was a hell of a season. No matter what happens from here,
tonight will be a good memory for Twins fans, and that's largely
because the Tigers played them so hard. Here's hoping you guys can
ignore the troll(s) that post here and find it in yourselves to root
for the AL Central in the playoffs. Facing the Yanks is gonna be a
tall task, especially with an exhausted pitching staff, but hey ...
who knows what might happen in a short series.
Matt
Thanks Matt. You know, after this weekend, I thought it was a good chance
the Tigers would mail it in. I don't think they played with great energy on
Friday and Saturday and just thought with everything, they might come out
flat. I was very glad I was wrong and wow, what a game. Almost a new
found respect for the Tigers and makes me more excited for next year.
The Twins were great down the stretch, you can't take away what they did.
They were very deserving. I never have problems with Twins fans, except one
who I should just ignore (but I bite way too much) and in a perfect world,
it would be fun to be all in the same place watching the game together with
you guys.
Unlike the Red Sox / Yankees rivalry (I live in CT, so I live it everyday),
I don't hate the Tigers rivals (Minn and CWS mostly). Yeah, want to kick
their butts when they play but once over, I will root for them in the post
season if the Tigers are not involved. So, good luck to your team. I think
it's a tall order to expect an upset with the way it went schedule way, but
who knows. I think it's BULLS##@%R that they allowed the Yankees to still
chose to start Wednesday. With this game being on Tuesday due to no fault
of the Twins or Tigers, I think they should have adjusted it so game 1 was
on Thursday. But MLB has no backbone and it shows sometimes. I would say
the same thing if the Tigers were in the Yankees shoes too.
Well, enjoy your continued season, I will be rooting with you.
