Eh, it's what the Twins do when they make the playoffs. Just get swept out
in the first round. Though I am not sure the Tigers would have done much
better. They do have better starting pitching than the Twins and could have
stolen a game on a Verlander start or something. Yanks are just too good
this year.
Nathan has been shaky all year.
Gonna' have to change the "Todd Jones" award to the "Nervous Nathan" award.
Those jowls were flapping like crazy last night.
;-)
What a total embarrassment to the AL Central Division the Twins have
been. Couldn't even take 1 game from the Yankees..
Twins played the Yankees 7 times in the regular season, 4 there 3 in
Minneapolis. Didn't win a one. 0-7.
Tigers played the Yankees 6 times in the regular season, 3 there 3 in
Detroit. Tigers won 1 game. So perhaps the Yankees would have beaten
the Tigers in a 5 game series but it is just as likely that Detroit
would have won at least 1 game out of 5. This season the Twins are
0-10 against the Yankees.
Even more surprising was the Angels sweeping the Red Sox. Didn't see
that one coming.

Yes, the Twins played really poorly in that series. Blew at least one game
they should have won (I'm not sure if they would have won yesterday, even
if they hadn't screwed up the base running).
But, on the flip side, I doubt the Tigers could have done any better. It's all
conjecture to think otherwise.
I'm just happy the Twins rebounded this season and took the division.
Five division titles in the last ten years is a decent accomplishment,
especially considering that the Twins are a small market, small payroll,
team.
Should be interesting to see how the Tigers and Twins look next season,
and what they do in the off-season to improve the teams.

Unfortunately unless Detroit can pull off a couple of miracles trades, not a
lot. Too much money tied up in crummy contracts. Still can't believe
Dombrowsky spent $30 mil on Willis before he even pitched one game for
Detroit.
Yes, Poonta really f'ed up. What a disgrace the Twins were.
Couldn't even win one game. Just like 2006.
Pathetic.
