I guess everyone is using the BBRC forum instead of posting here this
season?

Just wondering as I always enjoyed Usenet because I don't have to log in
(although the OT posts and spam are annoying).

Many of the active USENET posters for asb-cinci-reds have moved to a web
based forum run by the poster here that used Bob Braun/Mike Oxbig as his
name.

....FWIW You DO have to log on to Usenet although you may have made the
operation transparent on your installation. You can set most web based
forums to remember your username/password if you want your browser to do
that for you.

Simply getting to a usenet server has become a chore since many ISP's no
longer provide them as a service and there just isn't a nice Google/Web
based interface any longer. The university I work for has not supported
a usenet server for more than 10 years now. My kids have no clue what
Usenet is or how to get there. Frankly my kids have no idea what a
message board is or how to get there or why you might want to.

If you don't care for the Bob's groups banter/cliquishness and would
like a broader field to play in then www.redszone.com has new membership
policies which boil down to ....you stay around and are active for a
couple of months and we'll make you a member.

There are good people in both groups. Both groups are leaps and bounds
over most public forums.

known ASBCR who post on Danny's board.
Bob/Mike is Danny
kommienezuspadt is oldrighthander
John K is catcher in the Rye
Paul Hightower is Lex Logan
John Smith is....well, that' easy
dfs is......me.

Thanks for the information and the link to redszone.com. I'll lurk at both
but probably won't take the time to sign up with either one (and potentially
suffer through mass emailings).

Sad to see another fine group fall apart on Usenet but then, change
happens...

You WILL NOT get any emailings from my board. I fully control that board
and John K. moderates it. We go the extra mile to protect our participants.

It's been a long time coming. We staid active long after most
Usenet groups were full of spam.
