Let's say the Cubs get to spring training, and there are still no takers
for Bradley. Should the Cubs:

a) cut Bradley and eat the $21M

b) live with the media circus and hope that Bradley hits and the
attention dies down

What would you do? What do you think the Cubs will do?

That's the $21 million question. I don't think he comes back. Besides the
problems with the teammates, can you see him weathering the storm in right
field when the bleacherites get on him? The team is not going to be good
enough to go on individuals playing well; they need to pull together as a
team. Bradley would cause so much disruption, not just by his relations
with other team mates, but with the media continually examining his every
move and comment and t hen reacting to it.

The Cubs eat most of t he $21 million, and in the process are hampered in
strengthening themselves enough with new acquistions.

Meanwhile, we hope that everything else falls into place, no serious
injuries, Zambrano goes on tranquilizers, players play up to their
potentials. And isnt it going to be wonderful to see Ernie walk up to that
mound before the first World Series game?
