Oh yes, I personally thought that Joe Torre should have done a double
switch when he had the bases loaded and two out in the eighth and
Casey Blake (0-3) at bat. He should have brought in Thome for Blake
and switched out a different 3rd baseman for the number nine spot. A
grand slam would have made the score 8-9, since Blake (a right handed
batter) was already having trouble getting the ball out of the
infield.
That's what I'd have done.

Ozzie will surprise his detractors by saying nothing shocking. I
expect cliches.
Thanx Doc., but I don't think Ozzie knows all that many.
I suspect that he'll give us more enthiusiam and baseball intimacy
than could be expected.
His job will be to try and sell us the game, so you may be right about
cliches to that extent.
He's going to be nervous, and since he has that "love" of the game,
he'll do better than most.
I'll be watching, which is the reason they've brought Ozzie in to
catch our attention.
